After the man responds with jokes he says that they are there to watch Caesar celebrate his victory over Pompey. During the celebration, a Roman citizen yells form the crowd, â€Å" beware the ides of March.† Julius Caesar hears this but ignores the call from the citizen. This call from the citizen foreshadows events that occur later on in the play. After this event happens, Cassius talks to Brutus about Caesar and tries to manipulate Brutus. Essay on Sociological Autobiography - 1700 Words

My life started with my long and hard birth on July 14, 1993. I came into the world with a large scream and was immediately placed into some sort of category. The doctors and nurses took a quick look at me, and pronounced me as a girl. This social label of being a girl was now my gender, which is something I had no say in. Every since that very moment in time where my parents were told I was a girl, I have been treated according to my gender. This meant that my parents automatically dressed me in pink, bought me dollhouses and kitchen sets and threw me Barbie themed birthday parties. Since I was surrounded my whole entire life by these things, it was almost like second nature to think and act the way that I did and still do. My†¦show more content†¦I became intrigued and wanted to play with his toys because they became so much more interesting then mine. When my grandmother saw that I was playing with trucks and enjoying it, she quickly came over and grabbed them out of my h ands, giving them back to the little boy I had taken them from. She then explained to me that trucks were for boys not girls, and I should stick to using my pink shovel and bucket set to make nice sandcastles. I didn’t understand at that point what the big issue was, it was just toys that were fun to play with, but I agreed with my grandmother because I didn’t want to get into trouble and from then on stuck to focusing on making sandcastles. I quickly forgot about the trucks, and never again did I think to play with anything remotely like that. Little did I know it, but that was one of the first examples of gender roles that I had been exposed too. Growing up, my label of a female has given me both advantages and disadvantages. Having a younger brother has given me a clearer view of how parents and family members socialize the both of us to act male or female. Because I am a female, it was expected of me from a very early age to attend school and university. There was never really a choice, it was either that or go straight into work, which was the less pleasing option. However my brother is just expected to get his high school diploma and go work for my father and take over our family business, whichShow MoreRelatedDescription Of A Sociological Autobiography2484 Words   |  10 PagesSociological Autobiography Introduction Man is a product of the culture in which he is born and brought up. However, in order to meet the international marketing objectives of the company, it is important for the company to revise the strategic planning. There are certain changes in the strategic planning that would help Dunkin Donuts to carry out international marketing activities. The managers of the company plan to use innovative data and technologies that would help to boost up the sales and focus on the growth in the international business. The company carries out a proper market research analysis of the market to drive the sales in the US. The changes in the strategic planning that would help the company in achieving the expected outcome are to make considerable changes in the advertising and media marketing. Apart from the quality of the food, the company needs to focus on the standards and the safety of the foods. According to the concept of Czinkota and Ronkainen(2013), the menu of the company needs to be designed effectively. Since the company tries to enter the market of China, it is crucial for the company to revise its menu as per the needs and the preference of the individuals in China. Required changes Paliwoda and Thomas(2013) opined that the company can effectively enter the markets of China and sustain in the highly competitive market if it studies its current strategic planning to identify the areas that need the changes and make according to changes. Themanagers of the company identified that the media marketing of the company needs to be altered as per the market of China and also the other markets in which Dunkin Donuts tries to enter in future. The implementation of the innovative tools and techniques need to be considered. The company tries to change the media marketing process by considering mobile order and pay along with the obtainable digital initiative of social media marketing and online incidence. The focus of the company needs to be changed from the only serving of high-quality products to the focus on standards and franchise profitability. The implementation of the franchise model within the business will allow the company to ensure faster growth in the internatio nal market and make the franchise opportunity remain attractive in the long term. Sandberg (2013) argued that opening into the global market includes a number of risk factors that are capable of causing a huge loss to the company. However, the risk can be addressed if the company collaborates and consults a wide range of experienced individuals who have a proper knowledge about the international market or about the marketing process. This may include the collaboration and consultation with the stakeholders, the suppliers, the customers and the employees. The process of the interaction will provide the managers with huge knowledge based on which the new strategic planning can be formulated in order to meet the goals and the objectives of the company (Stttinger, Schlegelmilch and Zou 2015). The managers of Dunkin Donuts can collect the required information through a market analysis using tools and techniques. A face to face conversation with the individuals or survey questionnaire is effective in obtaining the data. The data experts of the company can analyse the obtained data with the help of the data analysing tools such as regression analysis and trend analyses (Buckley, Burton and Mirza 2016). The outcomes of the data analysis help the managers to decide whether the expansion in the particular market is beneficial or not. Gaining stakeholder support for amended or new strategic plans Dunkin Donuts have a strong engagement with a wide range of stakeholders that include their employees, franchisees, guests, regulators and shareholders in order to ensure long-term success. Dunkin Donuts includes all its stakeholders to obtain support in the amendment process of the new strategic plans. The authorities of the company find it important to include all its stakeholders as the stakeholders are different from each other and therefore have different views and perceptions about the company (Cadogan 2012). The planning of the new strategies is a crucial process that needs to focus on all the pros and cons of the decision and choose the best possible plans for the company. The role of the stakeholders and the level of their participation in the strategic planning of Dunkin Donuts depend on the mission of the project and their relationship with the project management officer (PMO). Both the internal as well as the external stakeholders play an effective role in the strategic planning process of Dunkin Donuts while they try to expand into the global markets of China. The internal stakeholders of the company contribute to the process by estimating the scope of the project, defining the work product, evaluating the task attributes and the life cycle of the project, evaluating the cost and the efforts, preparing budget plan, identifying the risk factors, planning data management and reviewing the project plan at a fixed interval of time (Malhotra, Wu and Whitelock 2013). On the other hand, the external stakeholders are almost similar to the ones carried out by the internal stakeholders yet there is a limit to their involvement in the project. An effective strategic plan can be obtained by the companyif the company sets the strategies based on the SMART objectives. Maintaining a scorecard helps the leaders to measure and manage the strategic plans. The progress of the plan needs to be tracked. While executing the plan, the managers need to identify the issues related to the plan in order to make the final changes in the plan. After being completely sure of the effectiveness of the strategic planning the plan is to be implemented in the workplace. As opined by Berthon et al. (2012), the strategic planning can effectively deliver the appropriate outcome, if it is communicated properly to others related to the company. The communicating strategies help Dunkin Donuts to address the communication issues while communicating the strategic plans. The strategies state that the message needs to be simple yet bottomless in the significance, construction of behaviour base on market and customer insight, using regulation framework and making the necessary investment (Cavusgil et al. 2014). Conclusion Strategic planning plays a very important role in Dunkin Donuts in the process of opening to the global market. While the company decides to enter the market of China to sell the existing as well as newly designed products it needs to consider the revision of the strategic planning. The necessary changes allow Dunkin Donuts to sustain in the competitive market of China. the required changes that would help the company in the international marketing needs to be identified and efficiently implemented so that the competitive advantage over the rival companies in the market of the home country and in the international market. Activity 2: Introduction The study focused on all the important aspects, which are required by the organization to focus towards a proper implementation of a strategic plan. Developing a proper framework in the organizational process includes developing and implementing different kinds of strategies. The study focused on all the key aspects, which the managers of the organization focused towards implementing a proper strategic output in the managerial procedure. Importance of a proper communication plan in the organization, implementation of strategic plan, effects of controlling and monitoring system in the organization are few of the important attributes which are reflected in the overview of the study. It is one of the primary jobs for all the managers to develop an effective communication process. It is the key parameters for all the managers in the organization to focus on an effective communication process, which will bring transparency in the organizational procedure. There are several ways, which managers of different organizations tries to develop a proper communication system in the organizational process. Developing a proper communication plan in the organization helps the managers to convey the message to the members. It influences the level of efficiency and simplicity of the communication methods. Some of the important mode of communication in the organizational process includes word of mouth, emails, press release and conferences. Strategies are developed by the managers in the organization to make an efficient as well as a smooth managerial procedure. On the other hand, it is equally important for the managers of the organization to develop an effective communication system at all the management level (top level, middle level and bottom level), in order to communicating the strategies to the employees. There are certain organizational goals and objectives, which most of the business firm in spite of the nature of the business tries to accomplish in the organizational process (Aras and Crowther, 2012). If the employees of the organization are aware of the organizational goals and objectives, it will guide them in a proper manner towards achieving the goal. In order to communicate the plans and strategies in the organization there are different modes of communication process, which the manager of the organization follows in the decision-making process. However, selecting the best mode of communication process i s one of the most challenging jobs for the managers. There are different ways which will provide a clear image of what the strategic plan is intended to accomplish. Based on the nature as well as the objectives of the business it is the job of the managers to develop an effective measure, which will focus towards implementing a proper strategic input in the organization. Planning is one of the important perspectives in the organizational process and on the other hand, implementation of planning in the organizational process is equally important (Daft, 2012). Nevertheless, implementation of planning is one of the most essential parts of the strategic planning process. There are certain variations towards implementing a proper strategic plan in the managerial operations. However, some of the basic steps, which the entire managers follows in implementation, process (George and Jones, 2012). The following part of the study, evaluated all the important procedure, which the managers as well as the leaders of the organizations follows towards implementing a proper strategic planning process. Evaluating the strategic plan In the first step of the implementation process, the managers need to evaluate the objectives of planning to all the members of the organization. It will aware all the employees of the organization about the strategic planning as well as about the objectives (Hellriegel, 2012). Highlighting the objectives of the organization provides a proper direction to all the members in a common ways. This will translate all the efforts of the individual towards accomplishing the common organizational goals and objectives. Creating a proper vision towards implementing the strategic plan The second step, which the managers of the organization need to follow, is to create a proper a proper vision of strategic planning. It will provide a clear idea of all the beneficial aspects of the strategic planning process in the organization. For example every business organization in spite of the nature of the business tries to increase sales and profit of the firm simultaneously (Hitt, Black and Porter, 2012). If the mission and vision of the organization are clear to all the employees, it will guide all the employees in an effective manner, as the responsibility of the employees contribute as one of the vital factor in the organizational process. Selecting the right members in the allocation process Resources of the organizational are limited. It is one of the most challenging jobs for the managers to evaluate all the organizational activities in a proper manner, which will accomplish the goals of strategic planning. Allocation is one of the vital jobs for every manager, as it requires a continuous decision making process. The third step is about the selecting the right employees for the right job in the organization (Kotler and Keller, 2012). It will automatically increase the efficiency level of the organization. Implementing a proper controlling process Developing a proper controlling process is the forth step, towards the implementation process. The process of controlling is one of the effective monitoring processes, which the manager performs to counterpart the definite presentation along with the planned presentation. If any deviation takes place, effective measures are often taken by the managers to bring the proceedings of the organization back on track. These are the four effective measures, which the managers need to perform, in order to implement an effective strategic planning process. The answer to this particular question covered all the important aspects towards evaluating an effective monitoring as well as controlling system in the organization. It is important for all the mangers to develop an effective controlling system in the organizational process as it will differentiate between the actual plan and the original plan. A management control system towards implementing a proper strategic plan requires a logical integration of management tools to gather data and report the organization to evaluate performance (Norton, 2012). There are certain advantages in the process evaluating a proper management controlling system in the organization to implement strategic planning. There are certain reasons, why controlling system in the organization is required in strategic planning. With the help of a proper controlling system in the organization, the managers will be able to clearly communicate the goals of strategic planning, which will ensure every members of the organization to focus on the specific objectives, which are required to achieve the common goals of the organization (Robbins and Coulter, 2012). It will also ensure that the management control system adjusts to change in the business environment. With the help of a proper monitoring system in the organization, it will allow the organization to develop an effective control system over the organizational performance. There are different kinds of methods, which are required by the organization to perform an effective controlling and monitoring system in the organization. Some of the important monitoring processes, which majorities of the managers performs, are reflected in the following part of the study. Developing an effective tracking system With the help of increasing an appropriate tracking system in the organization will allow the managers to identify the flaws in the organizational operations. It will make a clear idea about what are the different kinds of issues, which the organization is facing towards implementing a proper strategic planning process (Schermerhorn, 2012). Coordinate business and marketing plan With the application of a proper controlling and monitoring system in the organization, the managers will be able coordinate between the businesses as well as with the marketing plan. It is very important for the managers to make coordinate between the marketing plans as well as with the organizational plan. With the help of an effective monitoring system in the organization, the managers will be able to implement a proper strategic planning the overall organization process. Implementing Changes when required Implementing change in the overall organizational process brings a lot of positive impacts in the managerial operations (Seleshi Sisaye and Birnberg, 2012). If the manager of the organization finds any deviations towards implementing a proper strategic planning system in the organization, necessary measures are taken by the managers to bring back the organizational process on track by implementing change when required. Conclusion The concluding part of the study analyzed all the crucial aspects, which ensures towards a proper implementation of strategic planning in the organization. Importance of communication in the organization steps, which are adopted by the managers to implement an effective strategic plan and importance of controlling and monitoring system in the organization of strategic plan are some of the key areas of the important aspects of the organizational process. With the help of this particular study the organization will be able to focus on its objective with the view of implementing a proper strategic outcome. References Aras, G. and Crowther, D. Indeterminacy in Milton’s Paradise Lost Essay Sample free essay sample

Historically fabulous and spiritual idea has made a Manichaean differentiation between â€Å"the perfectly sacred and originative being of a surpassing ‘kindlier’ God† as opposed to â€Å"the utterly profane void and nonbeing of a passively impersonal or actively aggressive chaos† ( Girardot. 1987. p. 214 ) . Such a differentiation is based upon the acknowledgment that pandemonium represents a â€Å"disordered nothingness which must be conquered for creative activity to occur† ( Hayles. 1991. p. 2 ) . If such is the instance. pandemonium thereby stands in a direct dialectical relationship to cosmos since pandemonium may be understood as stand foring the distinctness and therefore the unfamiliarity of being characterized by the indefiniteness of human buildings of world. In stead of this. this paper will reason that Milton’sEden Lostportrays the aforesaid indefiniteness in being which is apparent in his word picture of indefiniteness as being b uilt into the construction of the universe. I will reason that such a word picture of the indefiniteness of being serves as an illuminating tool for understanding the failing and ineffectualness of Milton’s God in Satan’s corruptness of Adam and Eve inEden Lost. The separation of pandemonium and universe withinEden Lostportrays the mode in which the different and the changing is reduced to the indistinguishable and the permanent. It is of import to observe that the necessity of such prevarications in the necessity of set uping a monistic position of the existence. Harmonizing to the monist position of the existence. all entities are composed of a remarkable substance. This is opposed to a Manichaean worldview. which states that a separation exists between stuff and religious entities. Within a Manichaean philosophy. material entities are thereby placed outside the rule of God. Such a position thereby leads to the exclusion of the belief in a individual omnipotent divinity. which will further take to the undermining of religion for those who live within the material universe. To forestall such a cogent evidence against the being of God. it is thereby necessary to picture evil as a volitional [ as opposed to significant ] construct. Evil there by stands as a wilful estrangement signifier the Godhead beginning of all being. Such a wilful act of alienation. on the other manus. leads to the decay into void. which is the ultimate result of alienation from God. Within such a strategy. an resistance exists between pandemonium and universe. which is tantamount to the resistance between good and evil. At the oncoming. one might province that the monist construct of world pervades Milton’sEden Lost.It might be argued that the grounds of such prevarications in the theological background [ and hence tilting ] of Milton’s doctrine. Milton himself notes inChristian Doctrine. â€Å"Original mater was non an evil thing†¦it was good. and it contained the seeds of all subsequent good†¦ ( since from its ) confused and disordered state†¦God made it ordered and beautiful† ( 1973. p. 308 ) . In relation to this. it might besides be posited that such a position is apparent if one considers the withinEden LostSatan sets his residence in the â€Å"originals of Nature† ( Milton. 1854. p. 6. 5 11 ) . Milton depicted pandemonium as the first locale Satan is said to allure ( 1854. p. 2. 404 ) . However. I would wish to reason that it is in fact Satan’s rule in the â€Å"originals of Nature† [ pandemonium ] which portrays the mode in which Milto n depicted the significant interconnection of pandemonium and universe and hence of good and evil. It is in this portion of the essay. that the debut of Adam and Eve enables the account of the aforesaid point. Similar to Milton’s theological description of the original affair. Eve may be depicted as incorporating the seed â€Å"of all subsequent good† . This is apparent if one considers the capacity of her â€Å"fruitful Womb† to convey forth â€Å"multitudes† and finally the Jesus of these battalions. Eve thereby stands as the human opposite number of pandemonium. At the oncoming. such a correlativity between Eve and pandemonium bears no important paradox since the immorality is originally attributed to Eve since she is perceived as the vas for the seduction of Adam. However. the paradox becomes apparent if one considers that Eve is besides critical to the licking of Satan’s dictatorship. Eve was Satan’s initial mark due to the potency of her uterus as a arm against God. In stead of this Rumrich notes that â€Å"maternal Eve ( thereby st ands ) as Milton’s human symbol of the helter-skelter authority of the first affair ( 1995. p. 1042 ) . The correlativity will go further apparent if one considers that correlation between universes and pandemonium. Chaos is depicted as the void. which pervades all of being. Cosmos nevertheless is depicted as a potency evident in pandemonium. Such a potency is enabled by the attending of God [ a being who has existed before the creative activity of the universe ] . As God enabled the activation of potency from pandemonium. he thereby used as first affair the void. which is an resistance to his catholicity. In the same mode. Eve. which is depicted as the beginning of immorality. is used as the initial vas for the redemption of world. From this. it is thereby possible to situate that the initial failing of God against Satan is a necessary consequence in order for him to enable the activation of free will upon existences who were ab initio dependent upon him. Such activation nevertheless is merely possible through the activation of indefiniteness within such existences. This was made possible though the autumn of adult male [ autumn of Adam and Eve ] . The point is clearly depicted by Rumrich as he states that it is merely through the word picture of the autumn that it is possible for monist and materialist divinity to enable one time utterly independent animals to be willingly independent of him and thereby develop free will ( 1995. p. 1045 ) . Mentions Girardot. N. ( 1987 ) . â€Å"Chaos. †The Encyclopedia of Religion.Ed. M. Eliade. New York: Milton. J. ( 1973 ) .Christian Doctrine.Ed. M. Kelley. Trans. J. Carey. Analysis Of Influence Factors Social Policy Essay Example

Analysis Of Influence Factors Social Policy Essay Example Analysis Of Influence Factors Social Policy Essay Analysis Of Influence Factors Social Policy Essay As for a good authorities, the valuable public policy, which refers to the authorities action or inactivity to cover with peculiar issues, can be regarded as one of the rating standards. Therefore, it seems that the procedure of policy devising, turning the authorities political vision into the existent plans and actions in the existent universe ( Cabinet Office, 1999 ) , becomes important which should be put on much more accent. Particularly, good quality policy doing depends on high quality information, derived from a assortment of sources-expert cognition ; bing domestic and international research ; bing statistics ; stakeholder audience ; rating of old policies and new research ( Cabinet Office, 1999 ) . The high quality information here chiefly refers to grounds which becomes more and more of import portion for the policy devising. Even more, the increasing usage of assorted sorts of grounds by authorities has determined the cardinal function of grounds in policy devising for twenty-first century. The term evidence-based policymaking of course comes up at the same clip. Actually, the rise function of grounds in policy devising does hold its ain grounds. As the development of modern society, the growing of knowing and intelligent public cast their involvement to the exact information provided by the authorities and inquire why. Therefore in certain distance, it facilitates the authorities to research the precise informations of all types with the aid of developed information engineering ( Davies, Nutley and Smith, 2000 ) . What s more, an increasing demand on answerability in authorities goads on the significance of grounds in a democratic society. Due to the above grounds, in UK the Blair Government, who was elected on the footing of What matters is what works , announced that to bring forth policies that truly cover with jobs, that are advanced and shaped by grounds instead than a response to short-run force per unit area, that tackles causes ; non symptoms ( Modernizing Government, 1999 White Paper ) , and demonstrated that it was a good clip for the new authorities to get down grounds based- attack to public policy ( Gary Banks AO, 2009 ) , At the same clip, they built a new relationship between societal scientific discipline and authorities every bit good as pointed out that public policy had to be driven by grounds. So, what precisely does grounds mean? UK Cabinet office defines it as analysis of the result of audience, costings of policy options and the consequences of economic or statistical mold ( Cabinet Office, 1999 ) Harmonizing to Chambers Dictionary, grounds consists of consequences of systematic probe towards increasing the amount of cognition ( Davies, Nutley and Smith, 2000 ) . Both two definitions can be divided into four sorts functioning for policy devising: descriptive informations, analytic findings, appraising grounds, and policy analytic prognosiss ( Carol Hirschon Weiss, 2001 ) . Descriptive information is a tool to demo objects status, location, relation and way of alteration. See, for case, before the Hong Kong Government introduced the environmental levy strategy on plastic shopping bags, sum of informations are collected to demo the increasing danger brought by the plastic bags. 3-the mean figure of plastic bags is used by Hong Kong people per twenty-four hours. 13, 503-the figure of dozenss of solid waste is disposed of at landfills per twenty-four hours ( EPD Hong Kong, 2009 ) . 20 to 1000-the old ages are needed to break up the plastic bag. From the exact informations, authorities could clearly see the negative environmental affect caused by the plastic bag. Thus, authorities s policy is made on the footing of big and comprehensive informations. The 2nd sort is analytic findings which refer to the identified information conducted by an academic research and analysis system, detecting the relationship between factors and current state of affairss ( Carol Hirschon Weiss, 2001 ) . Besides in the same policy-the environmental levy strategy on plastic shopping bags, after academic analysis, we can reason that the low environmental consciousness of public endangers the state of affairs of indiscriminate usage of plastic bags. The analytic findings are the way for seeking positive solutions in the procedure of policy devising. Evaluation serves for straight analyzing the bing policies in other states or topographic points, and so selectively taking for ain usage. Taiwan, as one of the innovators in environmental protection, provides valuable experience for the Hong Kong Government ordaining the plastic bag levy strategy. After measuring positive and negative sides of Taiwan s Restricted Use Policy on Plastic Shopping Bags and Disposable Plastic Tableware ( Our Group s Essay on Environmental Levy Scheme on Plastic Shopping Bags, 2009 ) , the HK Government adopts the same policy of restricted usage of plastic shopping bags while temporarily abandons the unavailable policy on plastic tableware. The last one is policy analytic prognosiss. In common state of affairss, analyst will cipher and foretell the possible cost and benefits of the coming policy. The study of anticipation will act upon the concluding release of the new policy ( Carol Hirschon Weiss, 2001 ) . In short, these four sorts of grounds are used as the footing of the authorities policy devising. However, no affair how of import grounds is, in the procedure of policy devising, its nature has several restrictions and troubles. Harmonizing to Gary Banks research on evidence-based policy devising, methodology the authorities choose, informations lack or overload, grounds transparence, people who research and analyze grounds, and the limited clip to make the information aggregation are all the possible factors to act upon the effectivity of grounds used in policy devising ( Gary Banks AO, 2009 ) . Sometimes, quantitative informations could be collected, but that does non intend they are the existent valuable informations needed. The addition usage of plastic shopping bags has no necessary correlativity with the heavy air pollution job. Therefore, the grounds for air pollution should straight from auto emanation, industrial emanation, waste deposition, etc. Peoples with diverse political value or involvement could be non loath to accept the grounds which obeys their involvement. What s more, even for the policy shapers, they would wish to put the manner of policy foremost and so look for verification grounds. In this sense, grounds merely can be regarded as one of the important factors in policy devising. It will be much more appropriate to name that evidence-influenced policy devising ( H.K. Wong s talk note ) . In add-on, other three chief factors-political, economic and societal factors, besides have a intensive power to impact the complex procedure of policy devising. Politicss here concerns with political system and crisis. On one manus, as we know, the stable political system determines the usual manner of the authorities policy doing. From the first beginning of policy proposal to the audience and to the concluding policy devising, every measure complies with a certain regulate with minor alteration. Furthermore, the same as the steady political system, political political orientation and beliefs besides become the major elements to coerce the policy made ( Philip Davies, 2004 ) . On the other manus, crisis detonation becomes the direct primacord to press the authorities to ordain and implement a new policy in the immediate clip. After the detonation of the planetary fiscal crisis, one time the economic state of affairs in Hong Kong got worse quickly, and the Hong Kong Government carried out series of policy to excite the recovery and development of economic system. In the 2009-2010 Budget, the authorities introduced several steps to guarantee the stableness of fiscal establishments and the market to bolster public assurance in our fiscal systems , including the proviso of liquidness aid to the banking system and the constitution of a Contingent Bank Capital Facility ( The 2009-2010 Budget of Hong Kong ) . Meanwhile, in order to diminish the unemployment rate caused by the fiscal crisis, the Hong Kong Government besides sustained the proviso of more than 60000 employment opportunities, increased the enlisting of civil retainers, and closely cooperated with Guangdong Province to make more occupations ( The 2009-2010 Budget of Hong Kong ) . Therefore, it seems that in some certain state of affairss, political factors are more available than grounds which needs clip to roll up and analyse. The economic system is frequently closely connected with the political relations. The long-standing development of economic system should establish on valuable policies. In every twelvemonth s policy reference, economic policy is the most of import 1. Harmonizing to the specific economic state of affairss, the authorities have emphasised their policy on different facets. For case, when the Hong Kong market was to a great extent hit by the fiscal tsunami, the policy accent are placed on how to get by with it and how to retrieve this twelvemonth. This is why the authorities make great attempt to stabilise the fiscal system, support endeavors and continue employment ( 2009-2010 Policy Address ) . Comparing to the old twelvemonth, there was no fiscal tsunami s striking, the Hong Kong Government focused more on 10 large-scale Infrastructure Projects which aimed to better Hong Kong s transit and associate up socio-cultural and concern activities with more efficient transit systems ( 20 07-2008 Policy Address ) . When speaking about economic factors, we should detect that every policy is restricted within the authorities finance. As we know, if the budget of a policy is mostly beyond the authorities s fiscal endurance after exact computation and the cost effectiveness/efficiency system, the policy will be cut off. Social factors here include experience and opinion of policy shapers, wont and tradition, force per unit area groups and advisers ( Philip Davies, 2004 ) . Normally, the experience and opinion of policy shapers are cherished decision on the footing on the old policy success or failure, incarnating rational capital and tacit cognition ( Philip Davies, 2004 ) . They are see as an influence factor. Actually, the usage of experience and opinion frequently appears in the status where the grounds is uncomplete or non-existent ( Grimshaw, et Al, 2003 ) . It can be regarded as a complement for grounds in the procedure of policy devising. Habit and tradition constitutes another societal factor impacting policy devising. Some establishments stagnate due to the unchanging wont and tradition. They refuse to do and implement new policy to excite the development of themselves. To a certain extent, Changing traditional and accustomed ways of making things to suit the forces of reason and modernnes s presents a major challenge for policy devising ( Philip Davies, 2004 ) . The last societal factor-pressure groups and advisers, progressively act upon the policy devising in the current yearss. The fast development of think armored combat vehicles in society, they have already profoundly penetrated into the political relations. Particularly when a policy contradicts with think-tanks and force per unit area groups involvement, their sentiments are powerful plenty to impact the policy devising. In a word, all the above factors come together to act upon the procedure of policy devising. Evidence, political, economic and societal factors supplement with each other, fixing for the to the full consideration of policy devising. However, factors come together here does non intend that every factor should go one necessary portion in a policy. In most conditions, there are merely two or three factors influence the policy devising. Now, I will analyse how these factors come together to impact policy doing within one instance. Small Class Teaching in Hong Kong is a typical instance which could turn out many elements come together to influence policy devising. As the development of modern knowledge-based society, more and more demands are raised on instruction system and method. Particularly, for the comprehensive development of younger coevals, it is normally supposed that little category with smaller figure of pupils per category is much more helpful than the normal big category in primary and secondary school. As for the instructors in little category, they could cut down their heavy work load, pay more attending to every single pupil and so learn pupils harmonizing to their ability. For the pupil, in little category they would hold more chances to pass on with instructors and schoolmates, participant in category activities and acquire more immediate feedback of their ain survey from instructors ( Group 2 s Essay on Small Class Teaching ) . Since July 1998, an unwritten inquiry on category size in primary and secondary schools was foremost raised by Hon Cheung Man-kwong in the Legislative Council. Till 2007, the Chief Executive eventually announced that the little category instruction would be launch in 2009/10 school twelvemonth in his 2007-2008 Policy Address. During the long period of policy devising, in order to roll up more resource every bit good as sing some contention issues concerned with the little category instruction, the authorities conducted a pilot survey in primary school with effectiveness schemes of category and group instruction in 2003/04 school twelvemonth and another strategy in primary schools with high concentration of disadvantaged students with consequence from 2005/06 school twelvemonth. During the survey, sum of feedback and quantitative informations have been collected from instructors and pupils through the manner of questionnaire. Qualitative information, carefully analyzed through syste matic lesson observations and instance surveies, acquire a decision that schools and instructors have non truly benefited a batch from the little category instruction ( Group 2 s essay on Small Class Teaching ) . Even though the concluding consequence of the survey has non been released to the populace, from the facet of grounds , it can be regarded as a good manner to get down. In add-on, the rating and experience-learning on the footing of abroad experience is besides a sort of grounds. The United State is a successful illustration on the execution of little category instruction, who conducts specific cost-effectiveness analysis and to the full considers the allotment of financess, the mark popularity, the category size and so on ( Group 2 s essay on Small Class Teaching ) . From the facet of societal factors, most of academic and parents representatives concurred with the policy of little category learning with the grounds that instructors should be professionally trained and care more about single pupil s demand. Furthermore, political parties such as Democratic Party and Liberal Party, besides agreed with the execution of this policy. Therefore, a great major of stakeholders were consentaneous the execution of little category learning which they believed pupils and instructors would profit a batch from it. In this sense, the strong sentiments for stakeholders have a certain impact on the whole policy procedure. From the facet of political factors, in 2002, the Consolidating High Cost and Under-utilized Primary Schools policy was introduced by Education and Manpower Bureau, taking to a threaten to sum of instructors occupations. Thousands of instructors hold a March and protested against the policy in July 2003 ( SING TAO, 2003 ) . This political force per unit area became one component to act upon the devising of little category instruction policy. Originally, the Hong Kong Government attempted to pattern evidence-based policy devising by carry oning the pilot survey, measuring and analysing the research every bit good as larning from abroad experience. However, political and societal factors partly become the elements of impacting the policy devising. Thus, grounds in this instance is still the most of import factor and the policy of little category instruction could be called evidence-influenced policy. To reason, in the complex procedure of policy devising, grounds every bit good as the political, economic and societal factors constitutes the influence elements. On one manus, Evidence, by agencies of descriptive informations, analytic findings, appraising grounds, and policy analytic prognosiss, occupies the most important place in policy devising. On the other manus, to some extent, the restrictions and troubles of grounds restrict the policy s formation. It leads to the evidence-influenced policy , alternatively of evidence-based policy . Yet, the being of the political, economic and societal factors makes up the restriction of grounds in a certain distance. They all serve for the whole policy procedure. What was the primary issue(s) or problem(s) for Foucault in defining Essay

What was the primary issue(s) or problem(s) for Foucault in defining history, as appeared in Nietzsche, Genealogy, History - Essay Example (78). Thus according to Foucault history should not be a seamless attempt at identifying the natural origin of events. Peoples, cultures, but rather needs to consider how this idea of the "essence" has been fabricated. Not only how it has been fabricated, but why people feel the need for some kind of essence is an essential part of history for Foucault. Thus the "genealogy" that appears in the title of Foucault's book should concern itself with the details, co-incidences and sheer accidents that underlie the beginnings of knowledge, values and cultures rather than a search for a non-existent origin. In this manner Foucault appears to support Nietzsche's argument that traditional history sees itself as a tracing of development towards some kind of culmination; that it sees itself as believing in an eternal truth - whether it be of events, people, ideas, or religion. Nietzsche, and Foucault subscribes to the same view, suggests that what Foucault calls "effective history" can only be reached by seeing events as divergent, discordant and essentially in conflict. As Foucault puts it, it should involve the "shattering of the unity of man's being", as everything that has been considered to be immutable and immortal must in fact be placed within history. Thus they become mutable and mortal. Foucault, as is o Foucault, as is often the case within his work, focuses on the human body as a locus for this kind of history. Thus "the body is molded by a great many distinct regimes; it is broken down by the rhythms of work, rest and holidays; it is poisoned by food or values, through eating habits or moral laws; it constructs resistances" (87). Thus a history of the body, which Foucault attempts in other works, would involve identify these "distinct regimes" that shape the body, often conflicting with one another and thus creating stress upon the human being. Foucault argues that effective history should move form the distant, remote vantage point of traditional history towards a closeness. It needs to look at the details of life, identifying their contradictions, rather than at the universal processes and themes that may actually camouflage the reality of events. This closeness should not involve an emotional connection with the subject, but rather "an alienated view". Overall, Foucault argues that the role of historian as is commonly perceived and practiced leads to a false view of history rather than the contrar7y. Thus the attempt to gain absolute and comprehensive knowledge of history, through reducing events to their simplest elements in order to "explain" them actually avoids the true complexity of history. The traditional type of historian is in fact centered on himself and thus paints the world through his particular biases and opinions, rather than seeing the innate complexity and conflicts that occur within history. Foucault argues that it is necessary to revolt against his type of history if the true nature of it is to be understood, and if it is to really inform the present and the future. To conclude, Foucault essentially dissects the nature of History as it is normally performed within the academic world, suggesting that that attempt to find universal truths in fact masks the actual reality of the world.
